INSPIRATION
In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel commissioned Ernest Beaux to create "a perfume for women with the scent of a woman", unique and powerful. The perfumer presented her with a visionary composition based on the use of aldehydes, which was previously unknown. Mademoiselle chose the fragrance sample with the number 5 and kept this number as a simple name. In 1924, she launched Eau de Toilette N°5.
