With Java Réserve, discover flavours from the origins of rum!

It was at the end of the 15th century that the Portuguese reached the island of Java and discovered the sugar cane plantations
managed by the Chinese. The Chinese had a secret recipe that allowed them to ferment the molasses before distilling it to obtain the Indonesian rum known today as "Batavia Arrack".

This rum differs from other rums by using red rice yeast in the fermentation process.

Since 1641, the rum, once distilled, is placed in 570 litre tuns made of teak, the traditional Indonesian wood, before being placed in oak barrels that have contained bourbon.



The scent is marked by caramelised notes of baked sugar before revealing hints of vanilla and liquorice, coffee and toasted hazelnut.

On the palate, the rum presents itself with sweetness with flavours of caramel and vanilla before the appearance of roasted notes. A humid woody frame is followed by subtle hints of spice. The finish is delicate and light with a smoky/roasted note.
