As children, Tiziana and I spent most of the hot, sunny summer days with our grandfather in the countryside. He filled those days with exciting stories and taught us all about the wonders of the world.
Our father Evelino often joined us on holiday trips with his sailboat, made of fragrant wood. Eager to explore and bright-eyed, we roamed the seas on this boat and got to know the infinite beauty of our beloved Italy.
Just a few kilometres from our town, there is an enchanted mountain that juts into the sea and offers a breathtaking sight: Monte Conero. The rocks and forests are reflected in the crystal clear waters of one of the most beautiful bays in Italy. This is protected by two peaks, the two siblings thrown into the sea by the gods. We set off in the middle of the night, accompanied by light breezes that gave off the cheerful scent of the Mediterranean maquis throughout the journey. Our father oriented himself by the stars and sailed confidently, while our grandfather Guglielmo drew our attention to the constellation Orion and its mythical belt. Occasionally we saw fires on dry land, and signal fires that indicated danger to sailors.
Our hearts were filled with an explosion of scents still reverberating in us today, carried by the warm summer wind.
Orion is the result of this distant echo. It is a spicy, intense perfume, strong and yet delicate at the same time. The citrus bouquet makes it effervescent, contrasting with the sweetness of the pineapple and the rounded unity of the apple. All this flows into a brilliant undertow of spicy balance, consisting of thyme and oregano.
