A land of flowers overlooking the French Riviera, Grasse is recognised as the world capital of perfumery for the quality of its essences and creations. PANIER DES SENS honours Grasse perfumery and its ancestral know-how with its new range of care products with perfume absolutes.
A true jewel of haute perfumery, the absolute is the most precious essence of the raw plant material. Like an elixir, the absolute is obtained by the extractive action of an organic solvent on a plant. The extraction process begins with the maceration of the plant to obtain what is called a concrete. This solid concrete is then melted in alcohol to remove the insoluble waxes while preserving all the pigments and essences. A final operation separates the alcohol from the perfumed substance: we then obtain the absolute, a dense, precious, extremely concentrated liquid.
To further enrich this range of care products, olive oil, an emblematic raw material of the region, is at the heart of each formula.
