Wash after wash, the metal in the water penetrates the fibre. This is one of the major causes of hair breakage. But did you know that porous hair has a higher risk of breakage because it absorbs 2x as much water and therefore metal? Daily stresses such as chemical treatments, heating appliances and UV rays multiply the number of micro-cracks on the hair's surface and create cavities in the cortex. This makes the hair even more porous, which then absorbs an excessive amount of water and therefore metal, leading to a higher risk of hair breakage.
